MRCSP Annual Partners Meeting Held in Columbus to Celebrate 17 Years of CCUS Progress
The annual MRCSP partners meeting was held in Columbus, Ohio November 4th-5th, 2019. The meeting hosted a diverse set of speakers covering a broad range of topics including lessons learned and best practices from the MRCSP, the evolving policy and industry context, progress towards commercialization, and future prospects. The meeting was a celebration of 17 years of CCUS work in the Midwest and filled with optimism for future work and programs. Some of the highlights are below:
- MRCSP Geologic Team Meeting: Led by Autumn Haagsma of Battelle and Kris Carter of the Pennsylvania Geological Survey, the MRCSP geology research team members met on November 3rd to present latest findings, next steps, and key storage opportunities in the region.
- Keynote Presentation and Reception: Two keynote speakers presented at the reception held at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI). Charles McConnel from the University of Houston and Robert Mannes from Core Energy, LLC. Robert Mannes received an award from Battelle and the partnership thanking them for their extraordinary participation throughout the project lifetime.
- MRCSP Annual Meeting Main Event: The MRCSP meeting was all day on November 4th and 5th with more than 100 participants from industry, research, and government organizations.
