MRCI Final Reports Available!

Battelle recently submitted the Final Reports for the Midwest Regional Carbon Initiative (MRCI) to the U.S. Department of Energy. These reports document five-plus years of work evaluating and facilitating carbon dioxide storage in the midwestern and northeastern United States by the MRCI research team.

The Final Technical Report – a summary of the program – can be accessed below.

Additionally, a series of eight detailed Task Reports, along with hundreds of new maps, have been submitted to the DOE. These will be available on the DOE EDX and OSTI Platforms once the DOE review is complete. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in obtaining these reports, please reach out to us via [email protected] for assistance. While most may find the Final Technical Report sufficient for understanding the breadth of the research, those interested in digging into the more detailed geotechnical information will find that information in the reports for Sub-Tasks 2.1 through 2.5. We especially want to highlight the Task 2.1 Sub-Regional Carbon Storage Systems report, which provides a complete overhaul of the CO2 storage systems geology across the 20 States and adjacent offshore regions.
