View a webinar presented by Battelle exploring how chemically enhanced CO₂-EOR can improve oil recovery in the challenging Trenton-Black River heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs of the Southern Michigan Basin and act as a forerunner to permanent carbon sequestration. Drawing on a six-year, U.S. Department of Energy-funded field program led by Battelle, the presentation highlights how advanced reservoir characterization, laboratory testing, dynamic simulation, and field deployment were combined to evaluate CO₂ injection in a complex, multi-porosity, hydrothermally altered carbonate system.

Gain insight into lessons learned from pilot-scale implementation, the factors that control performance in fractured carbonate reservoirs, the favorable economics of trend-wide CO₂-EOR, and how these results can support more effective oil recovery, CO₂ utilization, and long-term field development strategies.

This webinar was presented by Aubrey Collie, Battelle Senior Geoscientist and Deputy Principal Investigator; and Derrick James, Battelle Reservoir Engineer. The webinar was moderated by Neeraj Gupta, Director of Carbon Management at Battelle.
